Step blocks have a series of teeth (or steps) that support one end of a setup clamp while the other end of the clamp is positioned on the workpiece. The step block can be quickly repositioned as the workpiece height changes. Two blocks can be used simultaneously to further raise the clamp height. The teeth of the blocks fit together at any point along the edge to raise or lower the clamping surface as needed.
