Mold Release Agents
Available45 products
Mold releases, also known as release agents, are applied directly to molds to create a barrier that prevents materials from sticking to them. This allows the casted product to be released without damage to the mold or the product, so it increases the life of the mold, improves the final product's finish, and reduces production times. Some mold releases are specially formulated for food or heavy duty applications. General purpose mold release can be used across many applications. Semi-permanent mold release can be used for multiple cycles before reapplication is needed. Mold release cleaner removes residual coatings from mold release.
General Purpose Mold Release
General purpose mold release, also known as conventional or sacrificial mold release, is used across a variety of applications, including plastic and rubber molding, to prevent materials from sticking to molds. It is applied to molds between each molding cycle and comes off on the molded product.

Semi-Permanent Mold Release
Semi-permanent mold release is applied to injection, compression, and transfer molds to prevent material from sticking to the mold and can be used for multiple cycles to reduce downtime from reapplication. Once applied, this mold release stays on the mold instead of coming off with the casted product, so the casted product has a cleaner appearance than casts made with general purpose or conventional mold releases.

Food Grade Mold Release
Food grade mold release is NSF H1 or M1 certified for use in food processing facilities or wherever incidental food contact is possible. It's applied directly to molds and creates a barrier that prevents material from sticking. This allows the casted product to be released without damage to the mold or the product.

Heavy-Duty Mold Release
Heavy-duty mold release is applied directly to large, intricate, or difficult-to-release molds to prevent material from sticking to the mold, which allows the casted product to be released without damaging the mold or the product. This mold release is formulated with more than 5% silicone to facilitate cast removal from injection, compression, die cast, and other molding.

Mold Release Cleaners
Mold release cleaners remove mold release coatings, residue, and grime on molds, extruders, and castings to ensure that future coatings of mold release will stick to the mold. They allow the mold to be cleaned without removing it from the machine.
