HID Ballasts
Available20 products
HID ballasts are used with lighting fixtures that use metal-halide or high-pressure-sodium HID light bulbs. They protect light bulbs from damaging power fluctuations that can reduce the quality of the bulbs' light output. They provide an initial spike of high voltage to turn on light bulbs and then regulate the current to the bulbs for as long as they are on. HID ballasts are used in outdoor lighting fixtures like wallpacks, area lights, and parking lot lights or indoor industrial fixtures such as high-bay lights or temporary jobsite lights. ANSI codes are assigned to HID light bulbs and ballasts, and bulbs and ballasts with the same codes can be used together.
Electronic HID Ballasts
Electronic HID ballasts are more energy-efficient and less damaging to HID bulbs than other types of HID ballasts. They provide accurate power regulation for consistent light output and light quality across the life of the bulbs. They also tend to be smaller and weigh less than other styles of HID ballasts.

Indoor Quiet HID Ballasts
The inside of the housing on these HID ballasts is insulated to eliminate or greatly reduce the hum generated by HID ballasts. Also known as F-can ballasts, they are used in HID light fixtures in conference rooms, auditoriums, and other indoor areas where noise must be minimized.
