Compact thermodynamic steam traps, also called disc traps, connect to the exhaust of a steam-based heating system to purge high quantities of condensate and air from the system when system temperatures are low. They start to close automatically as the system heats up, heating the trap and closing the exhaust valve. They are adjustable to optimize system operation and reduce startup times.
