Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTACs)
Available20 products
Packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) are horizontally oriented and sized at 42"L x 16"H to fit wall cutouts below windows to provide cooling and heating for a single room. They install into a wall sleeve, which provides a stable platform for the PTAC and allows units to be removed for service or swapped out as needed. PTACs take up minimal space within a room and require no connection to ducts. They're commonly used in hotel rooms, multiunit buildings, assisted-living centers, and room additions. They have a leakage current detector interrupter (LCDI) that senses current leakage and interrupts a circuit to help prevent injuries and damage to equipment or surroundings.
Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners with Heat Pump
These packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) have a heat pump for reversible operation to switch between cooling and heating for year-round climate control. Their heat pump uses less energy for heating than electrical heat when outdoor temperatures stay above freezing, making them ideal for climates with mild winters. Also called packaged terminal heat pumps (PTHPs), they have an auxiliary electric heater for heating on days when temperatures fall below freezing.

Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners with Electric Heat
Packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) with electric heat contain separate cooling and heating systems for overcoming harsher winter temperatures. Their electric heating element provides heat on days when temperatures fall below freezing. PTACs typically run more quietly and have a longer service than packaged terminal heat pumps (PTHPs), but use more energy for heating.
