Multizone Ductless Mini-Split Air Conditioner Components
Available20 products
Multizone ductless mini-split air conditioners are modular systems that can be configured with one condenser and up to four air handlers for cooling and heating multiple rooms or areas. Each air handler has its own controls for addressing the cooling and heating needs in each zone and allowing unneeded units to be turned off to reduce energy use. These multizone mini-splits are typically used as the primary climate control system in residences and commercial or industrial buildings. Sizing the condenser to match the total BtuH requirements of two, three, or four air handlers ensures that the system will have sufficient cooling and heating capacity. A combination of wall-mount, ceiling cassette, and concealed duct air handlers can be used for flexibility with mounting and achieving the desired air distribution.
Multizone Ductless Mini-Split Indoor Wall-Mount Air Handlers
These indoor air handlers fasten to a wall (typically near the ceiling) to blow cooled or heated air into a room or area. Multiple air handlers can be connected to an outdoor condenser of sufficient capacity to form a multizone mini-split system for cooling more than one room. Compared to ceiling-mount air handlers, these wall-mount air handlers are usually easier to reach for installation, cleaning, and maintenance.

Multizone Ductless Mini-Split Indoor Ceiling-Mount Cassette Air Handlers
These indoor air handlers install into a ceiling to distribute cooled or heated air from overhead within a room or area. Multiple air handlers can be connected to an outdoor condenser of sufficient capacity to form a multizone mini-split system for cooling more than one room. These ceiling-mount cassette air handlers are commonly installed in the center of a room within a cutout or drop ceiling, so that most of the air handler is hidden within the ceiling.

Multizone Ductless Mini-Split Indoor Ceiling-Mount Concealed Duct Air Handlers
These indoor air handlers install within a ceiling, furr down, or soffit to stay out of view while delivering heated or cooled air to a room. They can be connected directly to a register or to ductwork for delivering air to different parts of a room. When ducted, they distribute air more evenly than a ductless installation to eliminate hot or cold spots. Multiple air handlers can be connected to an outdoor condenser of sufficient capacity to form a multizone mini-split system for cooling more than one room.

Multizone Ductless Mini-Split Outdoor Condensers
Outdoor condensers move refrigerant to collect and release heat from mini-split air conditioner systems for regulating air temperatures inside a building. They're used as part of a multizone mini-split system along with two or more indoor air handlers, which distribute the cooled or heated air. These condensers have a weather-resistant cabinet that houses and protects their compressor, condenser coils, and other interior components. They can be roof-mounted or placed on the ground outside a wall.
