Door closers pull doors closed once they've been opened and released. They are used on fire doors to help prevent the spread of flames and smoke in the event of a fire. They are also used to keep out drafts and regulate room temperature in interior spaces.

Sargent® 281 Series Powerglide® door closers are constructed of rugged cast-iron for interior or exterior doors in schools, hospitals, and other high-use applications. The standard arm models mount on the pull side of the door with arms mounted on the face of the frame. Sargent® 351 Series Powerglide® door closers are made with an aluminum body and are designed for use with doors exposed to strong drafts and winds. They are ideal for use in hospitals and schools. Standard arm models mount on the pull side of the door with the arms mounted on the face of the frame. Hold-open arms are friction-type holders that are easy to adjust and can hold doors open from 80° to 180°. Sargent® 1431 Series Powerglide® door closers are suitable for interior or exterior doors in commercial and office buildings, healthcare facilities, and schools. Universal models include brackets
