Socket Nuts
Socket nuts, also known as Allen nuts, are female-threaded fasteners that can function as either an insert or female-threaded nut. They feature internal threads for engaging male fasteners and a hexagonal recess for tightening with a hex or Allen key. They are press-fit into a mounting surface when used as an insert and can be molded in place.
Steel Socket Nuts
Steel socket nuts install into mounting surfaces and create a female-threaded mounting point. They can also be used as nuts that tighten with an Allen or hex key. Steel fasteners are strong but are not corrosion-resistant and should be used in dry, chemical-free environments.
