Flat Cable
Flat cables transmit data and power between field devices and programmable logic controllers (PLC) in actuator-sensor interface (AS-i) networks. They have thin, flat profiles that contain two unshielded, non-twisted wires. Flat cables are suitable for use with insulation displacement piercing technology: a connection process where a needle connector penetrates through the insulation to make separate contact with each of the two conductors.
AS-Interface Flat Cable
These flat cables are suitable for creating actuator-sensor interface (AS-i) networks. They're color-coded based on their application: yellow flat cables transmit data and auxiliary power, black flat cables provide external power up to 24V, while red flat cables are for operations that need 230V. Flat cables are available in three jacket material types: TPE, EPDM, and PUR.
