International voltage converters allow products rated for one voltage to be used on electrical equipment with a different voltage rating. They are often used in North America to operate European products, or products with the same voltage rating, and can be used in Europe to operate American products when paired with a plug adapter. They accommodate copiers, computers, and power tools but do not alter the frequency of electrical currents.
