Manual Motor Starters
Manual motor starters are manually operated and control electrical loads to small motors and electrical systems like pumps, fans, machine tools, and conveyors. They combine contactors, overload relays, and manual disconnect switches to start and stop motors and protect them against damage. IEC manual motor starters are made to standards designated by the International Electrotechnical Commission. NEMA manual motor starters are made to standards designated by the National Electric Manufacturers Association. Definite and general purpose manual motor starters have specific performance ratings for low life-cycle applications like HVACR. Hazardous-location manual motor starters are constructed for use in environments where flammable gases, liquids, flyings, and other combustible materials are present.
