Through-beam photoelectric proximity sensors detect the presence of objects using a light transmitter and receiver positioned directly across from each other. The target objects move between them and break the light beam, triggering the sensor. These sensors have the longest detection range of all photoelectric sensors but also require the highest precision, making alignment and maintenance more crucial compared to retroreflective and diffuse proximity sensors.
Rectangular Receivers & Transmitters with Non-Terminated Cables
These rectangular receivers and transmitters detect the presence of objects using a light transmitter and receiver positioned directly across from each other. They feature non-terminated cables, which allow them to pair with different connectors and can be cut to size to suit different jobs. These through-beam transmitters and receivers are separate parts and must be compatible to function. The rectangular shape of these sensors is sturdier than cylindrical sensors, making them suitable for applications where vibration is present.

Cylindrical Receivers & Transmitters with Non-Terminated Cables
These cylindrical receivers and transmitters detect the presence of objects using a light transmitter and receiver positioned directly across from each other. They come with non-terminated cables, which allow pairing with different connectors. These cables can be cut to length to to suit different jobs. These through-beam transmitters and receivers are separate parts and must be compatible to function. Cylindrical sensors fit into compact spaces more easily than rectangular sensors.

L-Slot Sensors
L-slot sensors detect the presence of objects using the integrated light transmitter and receiver located on the ends of the two sensing prongs. When viewed from the side, they are shaped like the letter L, with the sensors on one leg and the connectors on the other. They are used to detect the presence of parts and objects that pass through their sensing area, such as the arms of an actuator, tabs on boxes, or crates on a conveyor.

T-Slot Sensors
T-slot sensors detect the presence of objects using the integrated light transmitter and receiver located on the ends of the two sensing prongs. When viewed from the side, they are shaped like the letter T, with the sensors on one end of the long leg, the connectors on the other, and the mounting holes on the short leg. They are used to detect the presence of parts and objects that pass through their sensing area, such as the arms of an actuator, tabs on boxes, or crates on a conveyor.

U-Slot Sensors
U-slot sensors, also called fork sensors, detect the presence of objects using the integrated light transmitter and receiver located on the ends of the two sensor prongs. When viewed from the side, they are shaped like the letter U, with the sensors on the ends of the long legs and the mounting holes and connectors on the middle leg. They are used to detect the presence of parts and objects that pass through their sensing area, such as the arms of an actuator or tabs on boxes or crates on a conveyor.
