Insulation-Displacement Wire Connectors
Available2 products
Insulation-displacement wire connectors (IDC) create semipermanent connections between conductors without crimping them or stripping the wire's sheath. Also known as quick splice wire connectors, they extend or terminate electrical connections in low-voltage wiring applications such as fixtures, appliances, automotive systems, and control circuits. Their insulated housing has ports or channels where the primary (run) wires and secondary (tap) wires insert, and a metal blade component that pushes down on the wires to hold them and pierce their insulation to create a gas-tight connection that protects the splice from corrosion.
