Overlap slotted discs have two interwoven abrasive layers for cleaning, deburring, finishing, and polishing inside pipes, tubes, radii, and inside walls of cylinders. They cut and smooth as the abrasive wheel is moved in and out of the recess rather than on the sides of the wheel. They require a mandrel to install them in a die grinder or other rotary tool. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper.

Aluminum oxide is a strong, sharp, and durable abrasive that penetrates the work surface and withstands heat and high speeds. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper. Example materials include metal, composites, wood, ceramic, plastic, and porcelain.
