Quick-Change Sanding Discs

Available549 products
Quick-change sanding discs remove rust and paint, clean and level welds, and prepare them for final finishing. They attach to a compatible quick-change backing pad or mandrel to reduce the time it takes to refresh a disc or change grits. Quick-change discs can be removed and reapplied so they're a good choice for applications where the disc is changed out before fully worn.

General Purpose Sanding Discs for All Metals

General Purpose Sanding Discs for All Metals

General purpose sanding discs optimized for use on all metals have a closed-coat aluminum oxide abrasive applied to a cloth backing. Aluminum oxide is a strong, sharp, and durable abrasive that penetrates the work surface and withstands heat and high speeds. Closed-coat abrasives have abrasive grain across the entire surface to provide a smoother finish and faster material removal than open-coat coverage. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper.

High-Performance Sanding Discs for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals

High-Performance Sanding Discs for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals
High-performance sanding discs optimized for use on carbon steel and soft metals have a semi-open zirconia alumina abrasive applied to a cloth backing. Zirconia alumina grains break down frequently to create fresh, sharp edges to cut and finish faster than aluminum oxide. It cuts cooler than aluminum oxide and is often used for high stock removal or under high pressure. Semi-open-coat abrasives have grit on about 70% of the surface to provide a balance between material removal and resistance to clogging. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper.

Cool-Cutting Sanding Discs for All Metals

Cool-Cutting Sanding Discs for All Metals
Cool-cutting sanding discs optimized for use on all metals have an open-coat ceramic abrasive. An additional coating minimizes surface temperatures for heat-sensitive alloys. Cool-cutting ceramic is coated to prevent loading and keep surface temperatures down when working with heat-sensitive materials such as stainless steel and aluminum. Ceramic self-sharpens faster than other abrasives to remove material faster. Open-coat abrasives have grit on about 50% of the surface leaving space between the abrasive grains to prevent swarf from clogging the surface which keeps the workpiece cooler. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper.

Cool-Cutting Sanding Discs for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys

Cool-Cutting Sanding Discs for Stainless Steel & Nickel Alloys

Cool-cutting sanding discs for use on stainless steel and nickel alloys have a closed-coat ceramic abrasive applied to a cloth backing. An additional coating minimizes surface temperatures for heat-sensitive alloys. Ceramic self-sharpens faster than other abrasives to remove material quicker. Quicker material removal speeds up the work and keeps the surface cooler, making ceramic a good choice for heat-sensitive metals. Closed-coat abrasives have abrasive grain across the entire surface to provide a smoother finish and faster material removal than open-coat coverage. The flexible, tear-resistant cloth backing conforms to contours and is more durable and tear resistant than paper. Other workpiece materials include cobalt, Inconel, titanium, and chrome.

Cool-Cutting Fiber Discs for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals

Cool-Cutting Fiber Discs for Carbon Steel & Soft Metals
Cool-cutting fiber discs optimized for use on carbon steel and soft metals have a closed-coat ceramic abrasive applied to a fiber backing. The rigid fiber backing removes material quickly in aggressive cutting applications. Other workpiece material examples include structural steel, cast iron, and heat-sensitive alloys.
