Abrasive wheels for surface and cylindrical grinding smooth and finish metal workpieces. Sometimes called precision or toolroom grinding wheels, they're composed of abrasive material in a vitrified bond to provide a stiff wheel that holds it's shape as it moves across the workpiece.

Grinding Wheels for Light-to-Moderate Grinding of Tool Steels
Grinding wheels optimized for tool steel grinding with light-to-moderate feed rates are made from grade 38A aluminum oxide abrasive that breaks down quickly to keep the work surface cool and prevent burning on heat-sensitive materials. These wheels can also be used on super alloys and soft carbon steels. Grade 38A fused white aluminum oxide is highly friable to maintain a sharp edge when grinding and sharpening high-speed tool steel, heat-sensitive steels, and cast-alloy steel.

Grinding Wheels for Moderate-to-Heavy Grinding of Tool Steels
Grinding wheels for moderate to heavy grinding of tool steels are made of grade 32A aluminum oxide. Grade 32A is a vitrified monocrystalline aluminum oxide grain for cool and fast cutting of vanadium alloys and other steels. It's suitable for use at moderate to heavy feed rates with minimal dressing in cylindrical, surface, and toolroom grinding.

Cool-Cutting Grinding Wheels for All Metals
Cool-cutting grinding wheels optimized for use across all metals are made from grade 5SG ceramic abrasive that self-sharpens as the abrasive wears down to maintain a clean, sharp edge that limits loading and helps maintain low surface temperatures. Grade 5SG is a ceramic abrasive that limits loading to provide cool cutting action on hard carbon steel, tool steel, super alloys, and titanium.
