Cut-off wheels install in angle grinders, power saws, and other rotary tools to cut and notch metal workpieces. They're made of reinforced bonded abrasive and have a narrow cutting to ensure clean, accurate cuts on a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, stone, and composite materials. Cut-off wheels cut on the edge, so they're introduced to the workpiece at a 90° angle. They're generally thinner than grinding wheels, that are designed to be used at a 30° to 45° angle to the workpiece.
