Oil-soluble Clover lapping compound assortments include a selection of grits used for flattening and polishing surfaces. They're are made of silicon carbide abrasive in an oil base for lapping surfaces where parts are prone to rusting. Oil-based lapping compounds are used on parts that aren't sensitive to solvents required to clean surfaces after lapping. They also remain moist longer than water-based compounds and are less likely to cause parts to rust.
