Lapping compounds create flat surfaces in high-precision machining applications. Compound is applied between plates that rotate in opposing directions until the compound breaks down when surfaces are flat.

Oil-Soluble Diamond Lapping Compounds
Oil-soluble diamond lapping compounds are made with very hard fine-grit abrasive used for aggressive polishing to final tolerances. Oil-based lapping compounds are used on parts that aren't sensitive to solvents required to clean surfaces after lapping. They also remain moist longer than water-based compounds and are less likely to cause parts to rust.
Super Fine
Super Fine is used final lapping and finishing on deals, molds, and dies. Super-fine diamond lapping compounds are 3 to 12 micron grit.

Water-Soluble Diamond Lapping Compounds
Water-soluble diamond lapping compounds are made with very hard fine-grit abrasive used for aggressive polishing to final tolerances. Water-soluble lapping compounds are used in applications where parts are sensitive to oil or where water clean-up is required.
Ultra Fine
Ultra Fine creates a high-precision surface on ceramic and metal. Ultra-fine diamond lapping compounds are 1/4 to 1 micron grit.
