General-purpose disc brushes are dot-style and used to debur edges of machined workpieces and finishing surfaces, creating an even and smooth surface. Dot-style disc brushes have bristles grouped into cylinders that reach small spaces of machined parts and recessed surfaces.

Heavy-duty disc brushes are turbine-style and have a brush face of densely-packed bristles used in short duty cycles for aggressively brushing and cleaning workpieces of paint, rust, and deep scratches.
