Quick-change disc backing pads attach to an angle grinder or rotary tool to support compatible quick-change sanding or surface-conditioning discs. Quick-change discs work with discs of a compatible attachment type so discs can be changed without requiring tools. They're often used when discs are frequently changed.

Straight-shank backing pads for TR quick-change discs have a threaded female connection to accept a TR quick-change threaded disc that screws onto the backing pad.
